Willie Polite officiating.She will await the resurrection at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery No. 2 in Loreauville.Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 8 a.m. until time of service.A native of Loreauville and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Dorothy Mae Polite, affectionately known to all as “Dot-Dot,” was born to the late Walter Polite and the late Salverine Jones Polite on January 15, 1944.Dorothy was baptized at an early age and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church No. 2 in Loreauville under the pastorate of the late Rev. Donald Davis, the late Rev. Raymond Jacobs and Rev. Walter Broussard.On August 18, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. surrounded by the love, prayers and support of her family at Iberia Medical Center, Dot peacefully transitioned to her eternal home.Though she never walked or talked, “Dot-Dot” was a devoted sister who enjoyed a fruitful life of service from her family. She was a loving soul that had an incredible love for people. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet demeanor and demonstrated her signature gift of joy through her family, constant smiling, laughter and since keen of humor, which will never be forgotten.In addition to her parents, Walter Polite and Salverine Jones Polite, Dot was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Julius Hypolite and Clementine Abraham Hypolite; maternal grandparents, Joseph Jones Sr. and Aurelia Antoine Jones; two brothers, Robert Polite and Walter Polite Jr.; two brothers-in-law, George Walker Sr. and Carol Broussard; and a former caregiver, Hazel Green.Dot-Dot leaves to cherish her many wonderful memories six sisters,...
